Watercolors from Galveston's Pier 21!

The Southwestern Watercolor Society's 60th Members Exhibition will take place at the end of this summer. I have painted three watercolors from a recent trip to Galveston Texas for that exhibition.  Only one can be selected. There is a famous restaurant on the Pier 21 that also owns a fish market.  The Pier houses many charter boats that take fish lovers to the ocean for deep sea fishing.  The painting below is from the fish market owned byt Katie's.  The fish catches of the day are ready to be taken home and cooked.  You can't get much fresher than that!

There are also fish sellers that are independent and will prepare their catch to your specifications.  The prices are so reasonable and it is fun to watch them gutting and scaling your fish. Below a transition if paid for and change is made.

Some of the most joyous tourists can be found where the deep sea boats come in and deposit the days catch.  These gentlemen had made some fabulous catches from the day.  Look at the size of that fish!  a party in is the making

I do hope that one of my paintings is accepted into the show.  Rarely have I had such a great time recording the activity at a site.
